Golfing at Cimmeron in Palm Springs

Cimmeron Golf Club in Cathedral CityDid a round on the “Boulder Course” at the beautiful Cimmeron Golf Course on the Palm Springs/Cathedral City border. (watch video link here)

I choose the larger course (Boulder) which is a par71 layout. There is a smaller executive course called the “Pebble” for you quick round people.

It is a excellent tract and plays like a links style but is very forgiving. (I need forgiving!) There are HUGE sand bunkers down the whole left side of some of the holes but are pretty easy to hit out of. The hole layouts are challenging but the tee boxes are flexible enough for the average guy to hit from. A nice to know is that this course is rated very Lady friendly as well.

The 17 hole is an excellent signature par 3 and plays to a green surrounded by water. Cimmeron is very close to the Palm Springs Airport as well, so when you land, take a quick taxi over to the course for your first round in the Valley. There is also resident “roadrunner” bird that follows the refreshment cart around. Funny!

The scenery is outstanding and they have a driving range and full service clubhouse. I booked through an agency but usually their fee’s are very reasonable and they have specials advertised on their website. Worth the trip!!
